From the What a CROCK Files
When you come across a repeating comment in a thread, it tends to make you wonder if the person posting is "for real" or just a troll. One poster on the PolitiFact Facebook page, by the name of Al Diaz, who I have long thought to be a bit trollish, recently repeated a comment about his heritage. He wants everyone to know, apparently, that poor Al came from an impoverished background, picked himself up by the bootstraps, and now is a successful (Republican, of course).....well, he doesn't say anything about his degree of success here. He just seems to think his meager beginnings somehow allow him to ridicule anyone else for having that infamous "entitlement mentality"--even when the other comments don't even allude to it.

On October 16 he proclaimed: “As you can see, my name shows I am hispanic. I wasn't born in this country. You want to see ...poor people? I'll take you to the mountains of Northern Mexico. You will see what is like to eat rotten beans, old tortillas and animal crackers."
Five days later on October 21, he repeats a similar thought on a different thread: “"You all dont realize that as a mexican born, I have lived in the dump. Any of you know what is like to eat rotten beans, 2 tortillas and animal crackers?"
I know I have heard him say this before these two incidences as well, but I don’t have time to go look through all the comments to find any more “old tortilla” postings. What being Hispanic or eating tortillas and animal crackers has to do with the topics of privatizing social security or having a more efficient way to file income taxes, is beyond me. Is this some sort of race baiting incorporated into the troll message? Or does Al just have an ego problem that he needs to condescend with tales of animal crackers? I don't know--suppose I'll just chalk it up as one more crock.
